Don's works have been featured in a number of National Magazines including; National Audubon, Sporting Classics, the cover of Down East and his wildlife series cards have been sold through museums such as The Smithsonian and American Museum of Natural History. His works have been shown in the prestigious "Birds in Art Show" at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, and his gorilla painting, "Past Master" was a center piece on national tour, with the "Images of Vanishing Nature" Exhibition Sponsored by the "Endangered Species Project" of Houston Texas. His mural, “Katahdin River Drive” has been included in David Little’s 2013 book “Art of Katahdin.”
His East African adventures have provided the necessary experience to render the African environment with authority and confidence.
Don was the Director of the ACADIA Artists Symposium series in Bar Harbor.
He also serves on the advisory board of the Stanwood Wildlife Foundation.
